![]() ![]() The room is a nice 2 bedroom room with 2 queens, a king and a sofa bed. ![]() We were checked in without issue and proceeded to our room. This is a beautiful hotel but, there were many small things that housekeeping could address. Yes, I’m writing this review as I’m laying down in this uncomfortable bed, unable to sleep. This stay was so disappointing, I contemplating just leaving after the first night, but I had already paid so much money to be here. We just expected better and we won’t be back. The gift shop marks out the retail price so that they can up charge. I shouldn’t have assumed there would be glow sticks for the kids, that’s my bad. You have to buy a wand to do the quest… the daily activities in the lobby are free and the kids were excited for the glow dance party until we realized you had to pay between $20-$35 for glow wands. In the water park, drinking water is not provided between 9-11 am and there are no water fountains. My entire family had breathing issues after being in there. The water park is for kids, plain and simple. Room service doesn’t come unless you call the front desk and they do not answer the phone until after 1-2 minutes of ringing. The table to eat at, two chairs for a room that fits 7 people. They had a very difficult time sleeping on those beds. I’ve had more comfortable beds at a holiday inn. Then we get to the room, incredibly basic. It got worked out after about 15-20 minutes and we used the same card that was on file. I refused because that line looked as long as an airport security line and I checked in already. I was told I had to go check in at the main registration front desk to update my card in order to pay the incidental hold, which is $100 a night btw. The check in process is rough, I checked in online, ahead of my stay and headed to the mobile check in desk. For the price, I expected something spectacular lol, I laugh now, but it’s not funny. We have been to numerous locations and our experience with the room and things being closed here was one of the worst. I will never return to this location and that’s too bad because it’s super convenient for our friends and us. They just blame Covid and don’t care that they lied to you. If you call ahead to ask, they lie and tell you everything is in full operation. The water park and restrooms were pretty clean overall, but they are having terrible staffing issues and cannot keep attractions open. ![]() They enter your room even if you have the do not disturb sign up as well which is totally unacceptable. Things were just old, rusted, water damaged, broken locks, etc. The rooms are just poorly maintained in general. Funny enough I started reading reviews and looks like tons of people have had that very same issue. In the end, management made us feel like we are crazy and complaining for no reason. We had nothing but problems just trying to get hot water for a simple shower. If you love cold showers, no ac and poor maintenance, this is the place for you. Sorry Great Wolf Lodge - you inability to reflect where we are in March 2022 lost you revenue from me.and from everyone I can talk to about your silly practices today. This woke corporate virtue signaling is silly and I can promise you everyone I know will hear about the terrible marketing and customer service that I received trying to understand the policy and to cancel my reservation (of course they charged me a $20 cancellation fee a week out from our planned arrival). Interestingly something magical must happen once you step inside the water park because you don't have to wear a mask if you're using the water rides?!! Interestingly NO OTHER LIKE business in Texas or other states (including Universal and Disney) require masks or vaccines to enter their property. I am astounded that in March of 2022 this business is still requiring draconian measures around COVID. In all the flashy website pictures and upsells they conveniently in small print note that they require full vaccination over age 5 or you must be masked. Made reservations at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas. ![]()
